What's the difference between reman, rebuilt, and new CAT engines?
Remanufactured (reman) means the engine is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt using new, reman, or serviceable-used parts. Critical components are replaced or machined back to spec. Rebuilt generally means repair of known failures without a full teardown. New is a brand-new engine from the OEM—longest lead time, highest cost. Reman engines offer a middle ground: lower cost than new, shipping faster than OEM.
Do you source CAT Reman or other factory remanufacturing programs?
We source remanufactured engines from third-party rebuilders. When buyers say "CAT Reman" or "new content," they usually mean factory reman programs.
